Investigation of nonattenders at screening and educational programs is important because those who fail to participate generally have less healthy lifestyles and a greater risk of disease than others. Subsidiary studies were conducted by the Heart Research Centre to investigate characteristics of 103 nonattending patients and 220 relatives of the FARIS program, as well as exploring their reasons for nonattendance. Results have been reported in refereed journals.
