Michelle Rogerson is a registered psychologist
and has
recently completed her PhD in exercise psychology at Victoria University. Her
other qualifications include a Bachelor of Science (Honours in Psychology) from
Melbourne University and a Master of Applied Psychology majoring in sport and
exercise from Victoria University.
For her PhD, she investigated the relationship between physical activity and depression in people with coronary heart disease. Michelle Rogerson joined the Heart Research Centre as a Research Fellow in February 2008 after having been involved in various research projects in public health and exercise psychology at Western Health and Victoria University. She is currently working on a follow-up study involving women with heart disease who participated in a Heart Research Centre project 12 years ago. Dr Rogerson has a keen interest in cardiovascular health, and a specific interest in the psychological benefits of physical activity. She is currently designing a physical activity intervention for people with cardiac disease and depression. She is also working on various other projects with the research team.
