Michael Le Grande, Research Fellow, is a behavioural scientist with a
degree
in
psychology from the University of Tasmania and a Master of Public Health degree
from The University of Melbourne.
His main areas of interest include assessment of physical activity, measurement of health related quality of life, and determinants of behaviour change in cardiac patients. His principal research focus recently has been the impact of illness perceptions upon quality of life in different groups of cardiac patients. In addition to his research role, Mr Le Grande is the information technology services manager at the Heart Research Centre. In this role he advises and assists project coordinators with IT support in relation to their research projects. He also provides IT training and advice to all staff. Michael's role extends to the management of research data files within the centre and provision of preliminary data analysis using statistical programs. He also maintains a library of commonly used resource materials including research articles, forms used in HRC studies and test instruments.
