Ms Alison Beauchamp - Research Fellow

Alison Beauchamp is employed as a part-time Research Fellow. She is following up patients with heart disease who participated in a Heart Research Centre project 12 years ago. Alison is also involved in the cardiac rehabilitation and chronic disease training programs for the Centre.  She is currently in the final stages of a PhD using epidemiological methods to examine the relationship between socioeconomic status and cardiovascular disease.  Alison has a background in critical care nursing, and has worked in Melbourne, North Queensland and the UK. Her other qualifications include a Masters of Public Health and a Bachelor of Health Science.

Prior to commencing her PhD, Alison was employed as a cardiac rehabilitation and heart failure program coordinator. She has been involved in cardiac rehabilitation at a national and state level for many years. She recently completed a four-year position as editor of the Australian Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Association (ACRA) newsletter, and is now a committee member on the Victorian Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation.
